THE THEORY

The theory was inspired by Jan Gehl. I came up with the sentence "Adjust space to time."
It states architecture should be contemporary and the design should be according to surroundings and with a futuristic touch.

In modern time, the concept of "sharing" is beginning to grow and being adapted to most design, from urban design and planning to car sharing.

This building is based on the theory as it relies on and shaped by its surroundings, yet the interior spaces are shaped for the main purposes of sharing among users.

comment: shows most of the building. Watch after you've seen the pictures.

2 MOVING ELEMENTS
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rM_KVlbNs8Q

comments: The two moving elements show the "doors" which can be applied to all rooms, as it provides them with the opportunity of clearly dividing the rooms from the main hallways. although this is not mainly the intention, we provide a solution for it if boundaries are requested.

 OFFICE FOR ACADEMIC STAFF

STUDENT AND STAFF MEETING ROOM

STUDIO SPACES
comment: As the picture above shows, the open room gives easy access to all users as the spaces is shared and no boundaries and limits are clear.
This also applies to most rooms and areas

 OFFICE FOR  GENERAL STAFF

 PC-LAB
comment: PC-lab is equipped with a "door" (please see "2 moving elements"- video)
This door gives the opportunity to exclude others from the class being taken. Thus providing the necessary peace for students and teachers to perform optimally.

comment: Social spaces are important, and provides an amplifying effect on the shared spaces concept.

 GALLERY
comment: The gallery has the special quality of not only displaying it's canvases, models and paintings for the users of the building, but also for those standing outside the building. The glass-facade allows people on the main walk to see some of the displayed artworks.

 WORKSHOP
comment: As observed all of LEVEL 1 is a shared hallway divided with no clear boundaries into the different functions: WORKSHOP, GALLERY AND LIBRARY

PLAN DRAWING
This design is also inspired by the "space" as it looks like an "asteroide"-belt or planets in a lane "orbiting" around the Roundhouse. Hence the shape and the name "The Belt"

This pattern shows the typical movement of chairs in this arrangement. This shows the sliding of chair back and forth.

This pattern shows the typical movement of chairs in this arrangement. This shows the more flexible movements, when people will bring the chair with them to see another persons PC.

This pattern shows a kind of reflection of the chairs arrangement. the expanding rows and narrowing gaps. At the same time it gives a sense of direction of movement of the "door"

EXP2 WEEK3

The dots illustrates the material used for the T-shaped overhang. The overhang will be equipped with tiny Lights in the different holes, to create an interesting street light, lightning the area.

The pattern at the wall illustrates the constructions urban appearance. By "Layer on layer" concept the urban sitting, waiting, recreational area is identified by the boxes put on top of eachother to form multi level space for the users with multi purpose use.

The "Tower" is covered by systematic shapes demonstrating different supporting annotations. This pattern expresses durability and endurance, strength and stiffness which should give the impression to the viewer that this "concrete" structure is strong enough to hold and lift the "T"-shape without additional supportings.
